What inside a 11 KV HT Switchgear panel by Load Break Switch (LBS)?

What inside a 11KV HT Switchgear panel by Load Break Switch (LBS):

11KV LBS is basically a mechanically operated circuit isolating device. According to the common practice in Bangladesh, from 50KVA to 500KVA substation, LBS is used as circuit isolator in the distribution system which is the main component of this cubical. The other components of this panel are:

1. 11KV load break switch
2. Earth switch
3. Potential Transformer (PT)
4. HRC Fuse
5. Metering Unit (Voltmeter, Ammeter, KV Meter etc.)

See below GA drawing of LBS panel:

1. 11KV Load Break Switch: Load Break Switch is a simple isolating device and it is used to protect and control the circuit in normal load current and over load current condition. LBS is used as the manually operated circuit isolator with simple driving mechanism and high operating reliability. It is basically used to isolate the distribution substation from the power source (overhead distribution line) for emergency purpose or maintenance period.

2. Earth switch: Earth switch is used to ground the isolated circuit or bus for discharging the circuit. Earth switch provides more electrical safety for the personnel.

3. Potential Transformer (PT): PT is used to reduce the voltage into a lower level from high level and provide this value to metering unit which are connected in the secondaries.

4. HRC Fuse: HRC fuse is used to provide a current limiting opportunity to the LBS.

5. Metering Unit (V, A, KV): To show the supply values.
