What is the Degree of Protection or IP

The protection against to hazardous parts like soil, dust etc. as well as against ingress solid foreign objects and/or against ingress of water by an encloser (panel or housing of BBT) is called the degree of protection. This IP or protection verified by the standardized test method.

      Define the protection against access to hazardous parts inside the encloser.

Selection of IP for BBT

IP selection for BBT is totally depending on its application and local weather. For indoor and outdoor the specialist recommended different IP rating of BBT encloser. In Bangladesh, the common practices are:

For Indoor Application: Not less than IP55 is recommended.

For Outdoor Application: IP66 or more in recommended with a canopy.
