Procedure and Documents Required for New Electricity Connection in Bangladesh (DESCO & DPDC)

Procedure of a new Electricity connection (DESCO & DPDC): 

Electricity Connection Procedure:

01. Prepare application including the document listed in below.  

02. Feasibility Fee (Application Fee)

03. Feasibility Study by local EXEN office after submitting the file and application fee. 

04. Electricity Plan by local EXEN office(RMU require, Meter, Line construction etc)

05. Staking & Approval by Head office.

06. Deposit the Construction Cost 

07. Contract 

08. Line Construction by DPDC, DESCO or PBS
09. Solar installation by Client

10. Internal Wiring Completion

11. Wiring and Solar Inspection 

12. CMO Preparation after testing the meter

13. Consumer Connection

Following documents should be submitted with the application for new Electricity connection (DESCO, DPDC & PBS): 

1. 2 (two) copies passport size photograph of the applicant.
2. Certified copy of Land Ownership Documents.
3. Certified design of premises approved by Union Parisad or City Corporation along with Nam-Jari, Holding Number, Dag Number, Khatian Number, or Chairman/Commissioner Certificate (if design is not approved). 
4. Required necessary Electric Load.
5. Certified copy of Rent/Lease Agreement of Premises (if applicable);
6. Certified copy of Owners approval, in case of rental premises; If there are any previous connection, description of previous connection and copy of last paid bill. 
7. Description of Temporary Connection (if applicable).
8. Trade License (if applicable).
9. Direction Design of Connection Place.
10. Proper approval of the concerned authority for Industry (Like, Forestry Department, BSTI, Local Administration, etc.) 
11. Implementation of Power Factor Improvement Plant (for Industry).
12. Service Line Length will not be more for 105-feet for primitive house & 110-feet for Building.
13. Certified copy of Contract Agreement between builder and flat-owner of High-rise residential/commercial building. 

Additional Documents Required for Connection Over 45KVA:

1. Certified copy of Pourasava or Housing approved Plan/Design of Premises, Layout Plan of Sub-station and Single Line Diagram.
2. Declaration to provide the Meter Room.
3. Specification & Test Result of all equipment installed at Sub-station and Clearance Certificate (ELB) of Sub-station from Office of the Electrical Advisor and Chief Electrical Inspector (EA & CEI).

FOR DETAILS REGARDING ELB APPLICATION AND CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE 

Additional Documents Required for Connection of Industry & 6 (or 10 in some cases) Storied Building:

1. Clearance Certificate form Department of Environment (if applicable); 
2. Certified copy of clearance certificate from Fire Service & Civil Defence.
